Success at the Robot world cup ‘RoboCup’

Robot ‘Tobi’ is serving a drink at a table. The team from the Cluster of Excellence Cognitive Interaction Technology (CITEC)of Bielefeld University came in fourth place (2013: sixth place) at the Robot world cup ‘RoboCup. The 13 researchers and students from Bielefeld competed in the Brasilian city of João Pessoa against 19 other teams. In the competition, the robot ‘Tobi’ had to independently master ten tests, without remote assistance. In the finals, ‘Tobi’ delivered a convincing performance in its role as a waiter serving drinks to guests at a party scenario. The WrightEagle team from China won the finals.
