The Future of Work

Deputy CITEC Coordinator Prof. Dr.-Ing. Wrede to moderate radio broadcast on transformations in the workplace

Professor Dr.-Ing. Britta Wrede, Deputy Coordinator of the Cluster of Excellence CITEC, moderated the “Campus & Karriere” (Campus & Career) radio program on Deutschlandfunk. From 2:35-3:00pm on Thursday, 3 May, she delved into how digitalization and automation will transform the world of work.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Britta Wrede with “co-moderator” Pepper the robot in the radio studio. What will it mean for us as workbenches become intelligent and new professions emerge, as robots take over human activities and models of work change? What opportunities will open up, and which challenges will arise? This is the topic of a series on transformations produced by Deutschlandfunk.

Professor Dr.-Ing. Wrede from CITEC discussed this topic with subject-matter expert Dr. Steffen Wischmann, from VDI/VDE Innovation + Technik GmbH. Pepper the robot, from the Heinz Nixdorf MuseumsForum (HNF), also joined in the discussion.
