CITEC Newsletter 1/2015 download available

A lot has happened at the Cluster of Excellence Cognitive Interaction Technology (CITEC) at Bielefeld University. That is the reason for the new CITEC Newsletter. In the current issue you find information’s on latest developments in and around the Cluster of Excellence.

Newsletter 1/2015In April 2015 CITEC started a new thematic network on “Interactive Intelligent Systems”. Six partner institutions from around the world participate in the network. The network serves as an excellence platform for international research and cooperation. Its focus is also on providing young academics with an interdisciplinary program of study in high-tech and technology related fields. The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) supports the network with over 800,000 Euro till 2018.

Beyond that the CITEC Team reports on exciting research such as developing software for designing motor vehicles (page 2) and CITEC funded highly interdisciplinary projects (page 4).

Furthermore, there is an article about the research group “Applied Computational Linguistics” led by David Schlangen from the Faculty of Linguistics and Literary Studies which is participating in the Cluster. The group brings important expertise in understanding how language use creates joint meaning.
