Research Apartment
The CITEC Research Apartment is jointly operated with the Applied Informatics (B. Wrede/G. Sagerer) with support of the Ambient Intelligence (T. Hermann) and Cognitronics (U. Rückert).
MekaBot M1
Omnidirectional robotic platform with an anthropomorphic bimanual torso with sensor head which is mounted on a lift. The robot will assist humans in the apartment.
Ambient Interaction
The apartment comprises several interaction islands that utilize ambient technology like projectors, ambient light, sound, tactile floors, a tactile table surface, distributed micro phones and cameras, etc.
Home automation
The apartment includes home automation interfaces to different appliances (stove, oven, hood, dish washer, washing machine). The electric powernet can be controlled by KNX.
Virtual agents
A virtual simulation of the Flobi robot head is used as a dialog interface in some interaction islands.
Cleaning robot
The apartment provides an interface to a commercial cleaning robot (iRobot Roomba).
